Burlap & Barrel
I first learned of Burlap and Barrel from Chef Floyd Cardoz. A former cook from Tabla had created a company that was going to do a very unique concept with spices. Not only were they going to source the best spices, they were going to source them from individual farms from around the Globe. I thought that was super cool.
Fast forward to 2019 and their company was already under way selling directly to consumers. I also learned from Floyd that he had been working on a couple of his very own spice blends with them. This was super exciting and on track to get started when in 2020 Covid hit and took Chef Cardoz. His amazing wife Barkha took up the reins and continued to develop these spice blends with Burlap & Barrel. Together they now have 6 different Floyd Cardoz blends that are incredible in quality and taste that he would be extremely proud of today.
All of their spices are incredible. I have tried almost all of them. When you open the jar you can just smell the difference from even the highest quality spices I have bought in the past. There are plenty of spice purveyors and people that buy and blend but Burlap & Barrel is noticeably different in many ways.
