Peculiar Pig Farm
Fresh, local sustainably raised meat is very hard to get in places like Charleston, or anywhere really. It all has to do with small farms logistics and not enough processing facilities. However, there is no comparison to cooking meat that is fresh and has never been frozen.
When Marvin Ross contacted me to tell me about his pork I was super excited. Not only because he was farming his animals in ways I approve of, but also because he was offering it as a fresh product. With a little notice I can get super fresh high quality cuts of pork for my custom menus and home use.
Marvin’s hogs are all sustainably raised, and he farms the same way he learned from his Grandfather before him. The bottom line is that his pork is extremely tasty and I love using it.
