I first learned of Cindy and Taylor when I arrived here in Charleston back in 2014. Word on the street was their shrimp is the best and it is. What I love about the entire team at Tarvin is their dedication to providing the very best quality all the time, with no added preservatives or cutting corners. Their son Vasa captain’s the local boat (Miss Paula) but they also run a larger boat (Carolina Breeze) that helps them provide shrimp year round to their clients. All the best restaurants in town use their shrimp and I am no exception.
Their service is second to none and always with a friendly smile. Open almost every day. Besides shrimp they also sell a variety of locally made goods, Sausage from Holy City Hogs, local oysters and, sometimes if you are lucky, soft-shell crabs and stone crab in season.
The entire team is just outstanding: Thank you.... Cindy, Taylor, Vasa, John Henry, Christie, Matt, Chef Emily, the dogs, the Egret and everyone else that makes the ship go round. Your work and your shrimp is a staple on my menus and I am a huge fan.
